Through painting and drawing, with a strong influence from photography, Pacela’s work chooses spirituality as a field of experimentation, from which he finds ways to unfold his poetics and explore its derivations: body, identity, faith, worship, offering and transcendence.
With a ten-year career in the visual arts, Caio Pacela (1985) lives in Niterói and works in São Gonçalo (RJ). He has a degree in Painting (UFRJ) and attended free courses at EAV Parque Lage. Between the mystical and the earthly, his work brings up questions of symbiosis between individual and collective subjects, their relationships of subversion and reciprocal interference with an emphasis on the spiritual, intuitive and subjective character of human relationships and their attitude towards the idea of the sacred and the divine.
