Giulia Bianchi, Mirela Cabral e Paula Scavazzini

Bliss, a visceral and enigmatic short story written by the celebrated writer Katherine Mansfield (1888-1923), published in Brazil by Antofágica, with images of works by Giulia Bianchi, is the starting point for Bliss, a lively and pulsating dialog that emerges from the paintings and drawings of three young artists – an abyssal and feminine look at vertiginous affection, where the act of creation is a way of accounting for the intensity and excess they experience in the face of the vibrant nature of the world.

ABOUT THE ARTISTS

Giulia Bianchi
Born in Bauru in 1990. Lives and works in São Paulo, Brazil. She has a bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts from Faculdade Armando Álvares Penteado (FAAP-SP). Through painting and drawing, she creates images enveloped by synaesthesia, bringing out textures, scents and smells in her visual compositions. With research that unfolds the possibilities of surface, body and sensations, the artist looks at everyday phenomena to renew her gaze with references to history and her surroundings. The artist has participated in important art shows in Brazil, as well as exhibitions in Spain and a residency at the Cité Internationale des Arts in Paris (France).

Mirela Cabral
Born in Salvador, Bahia, in 1992. Lives and works in São Paulo. She has a degree in Social Communication with a specialization in Cinema from FAAP (São Paulo). At the same time, she attended art programs at schools such as Parsons Paris, NYFA and UCLA. Today, she dedicates herself to drawing and painting as her main means of investigation, interested in researching how they interact and complement each other, looking for elements that clash between architecture and nature, sometimes culminating in human figurations.
