Like a “visual music” of shapes and colors, Marina Caverzan’s works, inspired by Tantra Songs, Indian tantric paintings, create a vibrant and sensorial environment, with references ranging from Hindu deities to video game aesthetics, exploring the coexistence of different levels of reality and cultural value. The artist’s first solo show at Janaina Torres Galeria invites the public to cross borders and access new forms of perception. Curated by Ana Roman and with the special participation of Artur Lescher, the show explores the intersection between spirituality, abstraction and contemporary culture.

Born in Leme, 1981. Lives and works in São Paulo, Brazil.
Graduated in Visual Arts from Faculdade Santa Marcelina (FASM)-SP, she has Fashion Design and Astronomy as complements to her education. By looking at various fields of human thought – such as alchemy, esotericism, mathematics, physics, architecture and literature – combined with elements of symbolic languages and research into the presence of astronomy and sacred rituals in various cultures, she creates hidden and symbolic spaces in her work. She uses formal structures of geometry, unfolded in two- and three-dimensional languages, where she questions notions of perspective and spatial orders, tensioning the constructivist tradition and the dimensions between interior and exterior, public and secret, through visual indices.
Nominated for the 2023 PIPA Prize, the artist is part of the collection of the National Museum of Fine Arts in Rio de Janeiro and has taken part in group exhibitions such as “we’re still at war, but for today, do you want to dance with me? ”, MARP (2024), “Mudas de Marte”, Associação Cecília Cultural (2022), “Polígonos, Pórticos, Matéria e Desejo”, Janaina Torres Galeria (2021), “GEOMÉTRICAS: Perspectivas Femininas”, Lurixs: Arte Contemporânea (2021) and II Mostra Nacional de Vídeos sobre Intervenções e Performances, Juazeiro do Norte, Crato and Santana do Cariri (2013).
