Show held in two moments, Of The Nature of Things brings into contact affinities and aesthetic dialogues. In the exhibition opening, Paula Juchem and Andrey Zignnatto build poetics from clay and ceramics, in supports such as sculpture (Paula) and photography (Zignnatto), exploring “the expressive power of the ceramic material and its millenary cultural essence, witness of human trajectory”, as defined by Heloisa Amaral Peixoto, collaborator of the show.
DEZ 12 2020 – ABR 01 2021
Dust, water, fire, feet and hands. Making and unmaking, modeling – and then form and gesture emerge from the clay. Engaged in dialogue are Paula’s sculptural objects, which bring together a unique three-dimensional formal vocabulary, full of allegories and affections, and Zignnatto’s almost mystical relationship with clay, imbued in his photographic images, imprinted with energy, reaffirming the physical and archaeological character of the natural material.
