Video artist, TV director, performer and curator Lucila Meirelles (São Paulo, 1953) is recognised as one of the pioneers of video art in Brazil. She stands out for tackling social issues from an experimental perspective, informed by her research in the field of language. She started in video art during the 1970s, acting as a performative actress in several videos by José Roberto Aguilar.
