For the edition of ArtRio 2022, Janaina Torres Galeria is presenting “Os Saberes e o Mistério” (The Knowledge and the Mystery), a curatorial proposal based on understanding, reconnecting and resignifying our history through contemporary Brazilian narratives that enhance our artistic expression in different themes, techniques and media. Knowledge, practices and philosophies, gestures such as looking at the sky, understanding the earth and its minerals, and the relationship with our ancestors are legacies and ways of understanding the present, the construction of legacies and research, which become a subjective and political direction to envision a future, sometimes hopeful and dystopian.
